Mr. Tyler Wiernusz

H.S. Director of Bands

Tyler Wiernusz is the instrumental music teacher and director of bands at Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill, NJ. In this position, he organizes curricular instrumental ensembles at the high school, conducts the Honor Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, organizes the chamber music programs, teaches brass pedagogy throughout the district, and serves as director of the marching band. 

 

He held the position of brass technician at the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps and Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps (DCI), brass caption head with the Windsor Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (DCA), and music staff member at InMotion Winds (WGI), in addition to instructing various scholastic marching band positions across the country as a brass specialist, music arranger, and program consultant. 

 

Tyler is active as a freelance tuba player around the Mid-Atlantic region. He has performed with numerous chamber ensembles and British brass bands, including his current post as B-flat Bass with the Atlantic Brass Band (NJ). He can be heard on the Newberry Victorian Cornet Band's album, "Thomas Coats: The Father of Band Music in America," and the Atlantic Brass Band's Album "Metropolis." Tyler was fortunate enough to march three summers with various drum and bugle corps, including his age-out in the summer of 2011 with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps. 

 

Tyler received a Masters Degree in Music Education from Michigan State University and his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education with a concentration in Tuba from the University of Delaware. He is an active member of NAfME, NJMEA, currently serving as New Jersey All-State Band Procedures Chair and conducted the South Jersey All-Region Symphonic Band in January 2022.​

Mr. Gerry DeLoach

M.S. Director of Bands

Gerry DeLoach is currently in his 28th year as a public school instrumental music teacher.  Mr. Gerry DeLoach was raised in a musical household.  Gerry's father, Dr. Leon DeLoach, was a public school music teacher for 37 years in Triton HS, Merchantville HS, and Cinnaminson HS.  Dr. Leon DeLoach was also a professional opera singer and member of the Philadelphia Opera Chorus.   Gerry's brother, Lee DeLoach, is also a Music teacher in Audubon Junior/Senior High School in Audubon NJ. 

During his first four years of teaching, Gerry taught in the School District of Haverford Township in Haverford, PA, where he directed the Elementary School Bands as well as directing the High School Jazz Ensemble.  Gerry came to Clearview Regional Middle School in the fall of 1997.  At Clearview, Gerry directs the Middle School Concert Bands as well as assisting with the High School Concert Bands.  In addition to the Concert Bands, Gerry teaches a variety of Chamber Ensembles as well as the Middle School and High School Jazz Bands.  Gerry's teaching experience also includes a semester at Temple University where he directed one of the small jazz ensembles.  In addition to this ensemble, Gerry was a clinician at Temple University's High School Jazz Band Festival in 1999.  At this festival, Gerry gave clinics on saxophone performance and jazz improvisation.  In 1997 Gerry was nominated to Who's Who of American Teachers.  In November of 2002, Gerry presented a session at the NJEA Convention in Atlantic City titled "Things they didn't teach you in College".  This clinic/session was geared to first year music teachers in NJ.  In March of 2003, Gerry gave a clinic at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia on saxophone performance and improvisation.  Additionally, in March of 2005, Gerry traveled to Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY, to perform and present at the Schoenhals Symposium.  This Symposium highlighted the connection between music and Christian beliefs.



Gerry resides in Glassboro, NJ with his wonderful wife Doreen, son Lukas and daughter Lily.  Gerry treasures his family and he sees them as examples of God's love and provision.  Gerry's extended family includes all of his students past and present.

Mr. Tom Maioriello

Director of Percussion

Thomas Maioriello is currently the director of percussion at Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill, NJ. Along with assisting the bands at Clearview, he directs the 7th grade, 8th grade, Symphonic Band, Wind
Symphony, and Wind Ensemble percussion ensembles. Thomas was a 1992 graduate of Clearview and he was heavily involved in the music program under the direction of his mentor Dr. Michael Culbert. Thomas returned to Clearview in 2002 as a music teacher, percussion director, along with directing the marching band from the years 2002-2015. Prior to teaching at Clearview, he worked with many of the area's percussion programs along with being the assistant marching band director at Audubon High School from 1993-2000. 


He received a Bachelor of Arts in Percussion Performance from the University of the Arts in 1996 where he was awarded the Paul Patterson Percussion award.  Thomas later went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Music Education from Boston University along with obtaining postgraduate credits from Villanova, NYU, and University of The Arts. Thomas continues to enjoy his passion for percussion by performing regularly at a variety of events throughout Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and Maryland. Thomas resides in Mullica Hill, NJ with his wife Jennifer and two dogs Comet and Chloe. Thomas is a proud member of the Clearview community and his biggest joy is giving back to the school where he first discovered his passionfor music.
